What's new in NoshUp
Sep 9, 2026
Here's what's new for your family's week. This is the home for NoshUp's release notes, with the newest release first. As NoshUp grows, we'll add new entries here and keep the older ones available.
v2.0.0 - September 13, 2026
NoshUp has a new look. Every page, from your meal plan to your grocery list to these blog posts, has been redesigned to feel calmer, warmer, and easier to read. Nothing you rely on has moved or changed how it works. Your plans, recipes, lists, and receipts are all exactly where you left them.
A warmer, cleaner look
- Room to breathe. Pages have more open space, so the meal you're cooking tonight stands out instead of competing with clutter.
- A warmer palette. The app now sits on a soft cream background, with terracotta for the buttons you tap most and a quiet sage green for gentle highlights. Harsh black fills are gone.
- Easier to read. A new typeface and clearer text sizes make headings, labels, and body text easier on the eyes, on your phone and your laptop alike.
One menu, everywhere
The old sidebar is gone. In its place is a single bar along the top with one menu that opens up to show everything: Plan, Track, and Account. It works the same way on your phone as it does on your computer, so there's nothing new to learn when you switch devices. The menu stays open as you move around, and it always shows you which section you're in.
Every page, refreshed
- Meals. Your week is front and centre, with cleaner day and week views.
- Recipes. Browsing and searching the library feels lighter, and recipe details are easier to scan while you cook.
- Groceries. Your list is now one continuous, tidy view, so you can check things off without hopping between sections.
- Dashboard, Budget, and Receipts. Your numbers get the same calm treatment, so your savings and spending are easier to take in at a glance.
- Settings and everything else. Even the quiet corners, like Settings, Help, and this blog, share the same look now.
A fresh face for noshup.ca
Our homepage has been redesigned too, including a new picture of the Nosh Loop: how a week of meals flows from plan to list to table and back again. You'll also notice a refined NoshUp logo.
Thank you for being here while NoshUp grows up. If anything feels out of place after the update, we'd love to hear about it.
v1.0.0 - September 9, 2026
Our first major release is about making room for real life. Plan just the meals you need, carry a shopping list across weeks, and change your mind without starting everything over.
Meal planning
- A calmer place to plan. Your meals take centre stage, with cleaner day and week views. Tools brings the less-used planning choices together, and Weekly rules keeps your settings and review reminders in one place. You can minimize the Fill the rest reminder when you're happy with a partly planned week, then expand it when you're ready.
- Plan dinners only, or your own mix. Choose which meal types to generate. Your household manager can save the usual selection for future weeks, so breakfast doesn't need a plan just because dinner does.
- Leave room for a night out. Skip or remove a meal you won't cook. Undo the skip when you're ready to choose another dish. If other meals depend on its leftovers, you can review those before continuing.
- Make leftovers a routine. Choose to use dinner leftovers for lunch on weekdays or all days, and save that routine as a household default. Set your usual portions or adjust an individual meal. Leftovers are planned where an earlier dinner has enough to share.
- Give this week a goal. Choose a theme, such as soups, or a calorie limit per serving when enough recipes have checked calorie information. You'll see when a saved meal needs review or there aren't enough matching recipes. Calorie figures are estimates, not medical advice.
- Plan the remaining days. Choose dates instead of regenerating the whole week. Remaining days includes today in the current week. Unticked dates stay as they are; suggested meals on ticked dates can change, so review the selection before confirming.
- Keep a favourite in the weekly routine. Clearer pin guidance explains that a pinned meal repeats for that weekday and meal type when you generate again, including in future weeks. A meal you add yourself is just for its chosen date, not a repeating choice.

Recipes
Browse, search, and filter the recipe library without generating a whole week first. Found something the family will love? Add it straight to a date and meal type, or open the library from an empty space in your plan.
If that space already has a meal or is skipped, NoshUp asks before replacing it. Meals you add yourself stay when you regenerate unless you choose to replace them too.

Grocery lists
- Shop for your own dates. Choose a shopping period of up to 14 days, including dates across two meal plans. Bring the meals you want into one saved list rather than shopping one calendar week at a time.
- Keep your place. Choose the week and saved list you want to open, with readable week labels. Opening or creating another list doesn't make the others disappear.
- Change dinner without losing your shopping progress. Review meal updates before applying them to your list. Your added items and bought quantities stay accounted for. If you've bought two carrots and the updated meals need three, only one more remains to buy.
- Keep a list that already works. After reviewing changed meals, choose Keep list as-is to dismiss the notice without changing your groceries. Later meal changes can still prompt a new review.
- Get to the shopping sooner. A cleaner layout puts your items and progress first, with shopping dates tucked behind a compact button. Adding meals now opens with a preview when meals are selected, and clearer guidance explains what needs attention before you confirm.

Dashboard & budget
Before your first receipt, your dashboard now shows a projected monthly savings amount when an estimate is available, with a clearer invitation to scan a receipt. It's a starting estimate, not money you've already saved. Once you scan receipts, you can follow your recorded savings instead.
The new dashboard and budget guides explain the difference between planning estimates and recorded spending, so it's easier to understand the numbers you're looking at.

Account
You can now request account deletion yourself in Settings, with a confirmation step and a 30-day grace period. Logging back in during that window cancels the deletion and restores your account. Only households where you're the sole member are removed along with your account. If you have Pro, billing continues during the grace period; requesting deletion does not cancel your subscription immediately.
We've also made sign-in and staying signed in more reliable, fixing an occasional problem that could interrupt you while using the app.
Help & guides
Help inside Meals, Recipes, Groceries, Dashboard, Budget, and Receipts now offers plain-language steps with links to public guides you can return to any time. Alongside the guides above, try Scan a receipt, skip the manual entry for help uploading a receipt and reviewing what was recorded.
If you answer one of our email check-ins, the links work more reliably and clicking again confirms your earlier answer instead of replacing it.
Thanks for making NoshUp part of your week. One meal, one shop, and one small step at a time.
