Your grocery list, always up to date

Sunday's big shop doesn't always line up with Monday's meal plan. And by Wednesday, football practice might have moved dinner around again.

Your grocery list should help you keep up, not make you start over. NoshUp builds it from the meals you choose, keeps it saved for your shopping period, and lets you review changes without losing track of what you've already bought.

Choose your shopping period

Open Groceries and find Shopping period. Choose Period to open the date settings. Pick Sunday-Friday, Next week, or 14 days. For custom dates, set your own Start date and End date. You can cover up to 14 days, counting both the first and last day.

Your shopping period can cross from one meal plan into the next. Meals outside those dates stay out of the selection, so you can shop for the days you actually need rather than a whole calendar week.

Choosing dates doesn't replace your saved list. Use Add meals to review what you'd like to put on it.

You don't need to finish everything in one trip. Your list stays saved for your shopping period, so you can come back for the rest.

Bring meals into one list

  1. Choose Add meals on the Groceries page.
  2. Select the meals you want to shop for. Meals from more than one plan can appear together when they fall within your shopping period.
  3. Review the ingredients and quantities in the preview, which loads automatically. If you change your selection, choose Review changes again before continuing.
  4. Choose Add to this list to keep using your current list, or Create list if you don't have one yet.

NoshUp combines matching ingredients and adds up the amounts for you. If two dinners need carrots, you see how many to buy for both meals. Adding the same unchanged meal again won't count its ingredients twice.

If some days don't have a meal plan yet, NoshUp warns you before you continue. You can plan those meals first or choose to shop for the meals you have.

Adjust when plans change

Changing your meal plan mid-week doesn't silently replace your shopping list. When NoshUp tells you the meals have changed, choose Review updates. Review the selected meals, choose Review changes, and read through the new amounts before choosing Add to this list. If you're reviewing changes but aren't ready to apply them, choose Cancel to leave your list as it is.

If you'd rather dismiss the meal-change notice without updating your list, choose Keep list as-is.

What you've already checked off still counts as bought. If the new plan needs more of an ingredient, only the extra amount remains to buy.

For example, if you've checked off two carrots and the updated meals need three, NoshUp remembers the two you've bought. You only need one more, not another three.

To keep track of what you've already checked off, use Review updates rather than Regenerate. Regenerate starts a fresh list from a meal plan instead of updating the list you're shopping from.

Check off what you buy

Tap the circle beside an item to move it to Done. Tap again if you checked it off by mistake. The progress bar shows how much of your list you've bought.

Shop one-handed

Open Shopping mode with the expand icon for a full-screen view that's easier to read in the aisle.

Add the extras

Use Add item for the things dinner recipes won't cover, such as lunchbox snacks or an extra carton of milk. Enter the item's name and how much to buy. Your own added items stay on the list when you update your meals.

Look for savings

Deals show current flyer offers for your items, grouped by store. Choose Hide deals if you'd rather keep the list simple.

Finish your shop

Done shopping appears once you've checked off at least one item. When you're finished with that list, choose Done shopping and confirm. After confirming, you can't check off more items, but you can still scan your receipt to track what you spent.

One shopping period, one list, and fewer things to remember while you're getting the family fed.
