Finding a recipe and adding it to your week

Sep 8, 2026

← Back to blog

Tuesday dinner needs a rethink, not the whole week.

Whether the kids have asked for a favourite dish or you just want a fresh idea, NoshUp's recipe library lets you choose something yourself and put it straight into your plan.

Find something your family will enjoy

  1. Sign in to NoshUp and open Recipes.
  2. Browse the recipe cards, or type a dish name into Search recipes.
  3. Narrow your choices by meal, such as dinner, or choose a cuisine from All cuisines.
  4. Choose Details to read the recipe before deciding.

Want more ideas? Choose Load more when it appears. If you aren't finding what you want, try another dish name or choose Clear filters to see the full library again.

You can take your time looking without changing anything in your meal plan.

Add one meal without redoing your week

For example, here's how to add a recipe for this Tuesday's dinner:

  1. Choose Add to plan on the recipe you want.
  2. Under Date, choose Tuesday's date in your current week.
  3. Choose Dinner. You can also choose Breakfast or Lunch.
  4. Select Add to plan again to save your choice.
  5. Use View plan in the confirmation message to see it in your week.

That's it. You don't need to create a new plan for the whole week just to choose one meal. If you haven't started this week's plan yet, adding the recipe starts it for you.

NoshUp asks before replacing an existing meal. Choose Keep existing to keep the planned meal, or Replace to use your new recipe.

If later meals use leftovers from the meal you're replacing, the message lists those meals too. Read that list before you confirm so you know which meals will change.

If a recipe doesn't fit rules you've set for the week, such as a meal theme or calorie limit, you'll see an explanation. Choose another recipe, or change the week's rules in your meal plan before trying again.

Adding or replacing a recipe here does not update your grocery list. Check the recipe's ingredients against what you already have at home, then add anything missing to your grocery list before you shop.
