If you are in the United States and you opened NoshUp's setup, you saw a region picker that lists Canada and nothing else. Nothing went wrong, and most of NoshUp works fine from the US. The region picker exists for the parts of the product that read Canadian store data. The rest does not care where you live.
The short answer
Recipes, meal planning, grocery lists, receipt scanning and budget tracking all work for a US household today. Two things read as Canadian: amounts are shown in Canadian dollars, including the budget target and Pro pricing, and grocery price estimates come from Canadian price data, so treat them as rough for US stores. The part that needs Canada for real is the flyer layer: weekly deals match stores by Canadian postal code.
Recipes and meal planning
Start in the recipe library. Browse or search it, then narrow things with Filters & Tools: cuisine filters, diet and allergy filters such as Peanut or tree-nut allergy, and nutrition limits like protein and calories per serving. Open any recipe for its ingredients and instructions. The diet filters are household settings: a household admin sets them once, and recipe suggestions and generated plans respect them. Items you add to a grocery list by hand are not filtered, so give those a check yourself.
When you want a week planned instead of one night, the meal planner builds a week around your household, and every planned meal flows into one grocery list. For the difference between just browsing and running full planning, read full meal planning or the recipe library, and for adding a specific dish to a specific day, finding a recipe and adding it to your week. You can also use NoshUp from ChatGPT or Gemini to plan a week conversationally and send it to your grocery list.
Scan your receipts
After a grocery run, open Receipts and choose Take photo / pick file. NoshUp reads the photo, saves the receipt, and shows you a review screen where you can fix anything it misread. The spend counts toward your Budget as soon as the reading finishes, and your corrections update the saved receipt. The step-by-step, including what to do with a photo it cannot read, is in scan a receipt, skip the manual entry.
The free plan includes 5 receipts a month, scanned or typed in. Pro has no monthly limit. An emailed or faded receipt can go in through Enter manually instead of a photo.
Receipt Vault, on Pro
On Pro, the Receipt Vault keeps the original receipt image for 90 days, so when you wonder whether a charge was right, choose View on receipt and see the scan itself rather than a reconstruction. Without Pro, the image is kept only until your monthly count resets. Links to the image are short-lived and NoshUp creates one only when you ask to view a receipt.
Your budget, built from what you actually spent
The Budget page adds up the receipts you scanned or entered, compares them against your monthly target, and shows how much room is left. Amounts are in Canadian dollars. The details, including how the target works and when a receipt counts toward the month, are in staying on budget with NoshUp.
What is Canada-only for now
The deals page matches your planned meals against weekly flyer sales at Canadian grocery stores. Without a Canadian postal code it has nothing to match, so it asks you to add one. Your grocery list price estimates keep working either way, but they come from Canadian price data, so treat them as rough for US stores.
Getting started
When you sign up, the first screen asks you to choose your experience. Recipe library only skips household setup and drops you straight into the recipes. Choose that if you want to look around first. When you want plans and grocery lists, the Set up your household card on your dashboard takes you back to full setup.
If you do run the full setup, Canada is the only region listed, so pick it. The postal code is optional; leave it blank and everything above still works. Your household, plans, receipts and budget live in your account either way.
