Is Mealime shutting down?

Yes. Mealime is shutting down on October 21, 2026. All user accounts and saved data will be deleted after the shutdown. Save any recipes, meal plans and grocery lists you want to keep before it closes.

When is Mealime shutting down?

Mealime's shutdown date is October 21, 2026. Save the recipes and other information you want to keep before that date.

Why is Mealime shutting down?

Mealime is closing as Albertsons moves its recipes into Meals Hub inside its US store apps. Albertsons acquired Mealime in 2021.

What happens to your recipes and saved data?

All Mealime accounts and saved data will be deleted after the shutdown. Save anything you want to keep before October 21, 2026.

Can I export my Mealime recipes?

Mealime has no export button. You can copy recipes manually or email [email protected] to request your account data.

  1. Copy your favourite recipes. Save the ingredients and instructions somewhere you can access without Mealime.
  2. Request your account data. Email Mealime before the shutdown, and copy the recipes you most want to keep in the meantime.

Our guide to saving your recipes before Mealime shuts down walks through what to save.

What happens to Mealime Pro?

Recurring charges for Mealime Pro have stopped, and all Pro features are free until Mealime closes on October 21, 2026. If you subscribed through an app store, check your subscription settings to confirm the status.

Can I get a refund for Mealime Pro?

Check with the provider that billed you about refund eligibility. Recurring charges have stopped, but a stopped renewal is not the same as a refund for a previous payment.

What is replacing Mealime?

Mealime's recipes are moving into Meals Hub, inside Albertsons-owned US store apps including Safeway, Albertsons, Vons, Jewel-Osco, Acme, Shaw's and Tom Thumb.

Two things to know before you count on it:

  • Your saved recipes and meal plans do not transfer. You would start from scratch there too.
  • Meals Hub lives inside US store apps, so outside the United States you will need a different tool.

If Meals Hub is not an option for you, an independent meal planning app keeps your recipes yours and works no matter where you shop.

What should you do before Mealime shuts down?

Save your recipes, compare alternatives, and try planning a week with your chosen tool before October 21, 2026.

  1. Save the recipes you actually cook. Start with your favourites, then copy anything else you want to keep.
  2. Compare replacement apps. Our comparison of Mealime alternatives in 2026 covers prices, strengths and limitations, including those of our own app, NoshUp.
  3. Try your next weekly plan. Check that your chosen tool fits your routine. If you choose NoshUp, moving from Mealime takes about ten minutes, and the migration guide shows you how to paste your copied recipes into a proper recipe library.

Losing an app you rely on is frustrating. Start by saving the recipes you cook most often, then choose a planning tool that fits your household.
